About the Role

We have an exciting new opportunity for a people-focused individual with an Agricultural Engineering background to join our Service Department at our Ashbourne depot as Workshop Team Leader.

As the Workshop Team Leader of one of our dynamic, dedicated, and professional service teams, you will assist in developing and maintaining the highest level of aftersales service with the goal of being recognised as industry leaders. Working closely with the Service Manager, your objective is to take a personal role in delivering excellence to each one of our customers; ensuring that they receive a first-class service with the focus on quality and customer satisfaction whilst demonstrating our Company Values at all times.

Previous experience of working with Agricultural machinery in a technical role is essential for this position.

This role will primarily be that of a Farol Agricultural technician, with the added responsibilities of being the Team Leader for our Ashbourne depot’s workshop. We envisage that the 20% of the time will be spent carrying out duties of the team leader.

Ag Service Technician
To perform diagnostics, repairs, PDI’s and maintenance on agricultural/plant machinery, following all safety rules and regulations.

Carry out jobs as per the job instruction; the job starts from when the job is logged onto and finished when the job story is satisfactorily completed and marked as complete. Ensure your job cards are correctly filled out as the job progresses and are accurately prepared for processing by the Job manager.

To work within the depot and onsite without supervision, as well as working with colleagues in the workshops and in other functions in a positive and constructive manner.

Always promote the company and where possible to actively encourage customers to use the facilities of the Service Department.

To communicate effectively with colleagues and customers, both external and internal.

Maintain a positive health and safety culture by observing/advising/reporting unsafe working methods.

Maintain a clean working environment, personal presentation, tidy and clean vans.

Team Leader duties
Assisting technicians with technical issues and share technical difficulties with the relevant teams.

Mentoring and supporting technicians, particularly apprentices and trainees, to progress their understanding and knowledge.

Maintaining strict quality control measures and final checks on all repairs through the workshop and take the lead in signing off PDI’s.

Leading the way with Farol Procedures including Expert checks, Pdi Inspections and Risk assessments.

About You

You will be able to demonstrate the following experience & skills:

  • Experience of working in a technical role with agricultural machinery and equipment is essential (John Deere experience is desirable)
  • A relevant technical qualification (such as an Agricultural Engineering) would be advantageous
  • Experience of managing a team of technicians is desirable
  • Experience of coaching/mentoring is desirable
  • Strong diagnostic ability with good all-round technical knowledge of agricultural machinery
  • A driving license is essential
  • Strong customer service and customer facing skills
  • The ability to work self-motivate and work individually, managing your own workload and also able to work as part of a team
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail

About the Package

Basic salary in the region of £35 - £40,000 dependent on experience, generous bonus scheme, 20 days holiday increasing by 1 day for each completed year of service up to a maximum of 25 days (plus Bank Holidays), company pension, employee discount, cycle to work scheme and financial planning service.

Hours and place of work

8am - 5pm Monday to Friday plus overtime, Ashbourne (DE6 2EL)
