Role overview

As Trade and Export Specialist, you will be the first point of contact for all telephone and internet enquiries for the Company’s Used equipment sales for Trade and Export. You will be required to work with the Used Equipment (UE), Sales and Marketing teams to develop customer relationships and initiate marketing initiatives to maximise opportunities available. You will be required to sustain the current trade and export channels whilst developing opportunities for new markets. The role will require you to manage the used stock and adhere to export requirements and regulations.

Essential Duties:

  • Sells Used Equipment to Trade and Export channels for the Company and identifies and utilises all channels available to successfully market used equipment.
  • Has a comprehensive knowledge of the local and worldwide used equipment industry and maintains this knowledge by engaging in the trade and export markets. Working with the sales and management team ensures all equipment is sold and marketed at the appropriate market value.
  • Ensures that UE will be prepared, revised, displayed and advertised in a timely manner. May demonstrate machines to potential customers.
  • Ensures compliance with all import and export requirements and works with internal teams to fulfil requirements.
  • Responsible for the logistics of trade and export, ensuring trade-in machines are collected and exported on time and all relevant attachments and accessories are included.
  • Working with internal teams to develop and execute a UE sales and marketing plan, including advertising programmes, campaigns, trade shows and used equipment clinics.
  • Working with the Used Equipment Manager, monitors inventory turns and aged stock to promote and sell in a timely manner.
  • Supports and works within the Company’s UE policies and guidelines on pricing, evaluation, purchasing and inventory management.
  • Upholds and utilises the Company systems and processes, the dealer management systems and external systems for information such as sales and finance programmes, features, the value of competitive equipment, and general competitive information, and supports with information gathered from used equipment sales and prospecting activities.

  • Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience of exporting equipment, ideally with a recognised qualification in export of used.
  • Proven sales experience in selling to businesses and traders and/or experience in an agricultural sales role.
  • Effective communication & negotiation skills.
  • Consummate account management skills.
  • Familiar with John Deere and competitive products.
  • Proven ability to analyse and interpret internal and external data.
  • Familiarity with statistical and analytical applications of research and data is preferred.
  • Diligent & organised with high levels of attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to be creative and innovative.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to lead and inspire others.
  • High degree of computer literacy with particular proficiency in MS Office programs and ability to use internal systems.
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management skills.
