Technology and Demo Ag Placement (12 month contract wef Sept 2025)
Job Function:
A placement which would suit someone looking for their first role in precision Ag technology.
This is a 12 month fixed term placement to:
- Ensure customers receive the relevant handover, training, support and technical diagnostics of agricultural and turf technology products and services.
- A field-based, customer-facing role which requires the ability to build strong customer relationships and deliver world-class customer service
- Provides expertise and support for the field sales support team
Location: Based out of either Dunmow, Essex CM6 1HD or Ivychurch, Kent TN29 0AL
Start Date and Duration: August/September 2025 and lasting for 12 months
Hourly Rate and Company Equipment: Hourly rate dependent on age. There will be use of a company van, laptop and mobile phone for work purposes only.
Agricultural technologies have grown rapidly over the past decade, sparking strong interest and investment in this expanding field. Precision agriculture, in particular, offers dynamic management solutions, helping farmers address a broad range of challenges. At Tuckwells we have a dedicated team of highly experienced and knowledgeable technology specialists to help our customers manage their data effectively, providing valuable insights for informed decision making.
Essential Duties:
- Demonstrate the machines that the company sells
- Help to run training events for the customers and Tuckwell staff with help from the technology team
- Ensure all machine installations are completed to a professional standard
- Use the demo hub to give feedback on demonstrations to the sales department
- Help to organise shows and events working with all the sales teams
- Work closely with the aftersales and sales teams to ensure new machines have all relevant hardware, activations, data migrated and data protection administration completed.
- Carry out technical diagnostics and repair of John Deere precision hardware
- Manage own workload and prioritise support to customers’ demands
- Run regular internal and external training
- Provide the best possible levels of customer service at all times
- Assist in all relevant activities in achieving departmental targets
Skills & Qualifications:
- Must have a passion for computing and technology
- To be competent in operating very complex machinery to a very high level and to fully understand the internal workings of each machine
- Excellent knowledge of agricultural and turf equipment and farming operational practices
- Ability to use standard computer applications and internet functions
- Familiar with competitive products
- Ability to work extended hours
- Self-motivated
- Ability to interact with customers and develop/build a relationship that ultimately delivers a positively satisfying experience.
- To build and document the knowledge of customers and their technical operations, feeding back any important information.
- Ability to effectively communicate both internally and externally.
- A valid driving licence is essential for this placement
