About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Service Manager to join the Service department at our Midhurst depot. Your role will be to lead the department, managing a team of 16 Technicians, to ensure the smooth running of the workshop.

Your main duties will include:

  • Hold financial responsibility for the Agricultural Service department, overseeing the day-to-day control of WIP management to ensure revenue, volume and profit targets are met whilst meeting Dealer standards.

  • Manage the technician team – Carry out regular performance review of technicians to ensure clear understanding of personal and company objectives.

  • Support the training of apprentices – Ensure support is given and recommend development plans and training plans as required.

  • Manage the internal customer – Collaboration with sales team to ensure quality standards and deadlines are met.

  • Manage the workshop facility, housekeeping, H&S, equipment, and maintenance.

  • Support the recruitment and development of all Technicians within the Agricultural Service department. Ensuring that the company attracts and retains key talent

About You

The primary focus of this role is People Management whilst ensuring the efficiency & profitability of the workshop, therefore a people-focused individual with previous experience of running a workshop, including an understanding of the financial side, is required.

You must also possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Comfortable managing all people/HR-related activities at a local level (with support from the Group Service Directors, Depot Director, and Group HR team)

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – able to quickly build positive relationships with colleagues and customers.

  • Excellent organisational ability

  • Strong coaching & motivational skills

  • Able to drive efficiencies and improve KPI performances
  • Excellent attention to detail – able to follow a task through from beginning to end

The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar role (such as Service Manager/Workshop Manager or Technician), ideally in the Agricultural, Groundcare or Construction industries. However, candidates from other industries will be considered if you can demonstrate that you meet the Person Specification requirements.

About the Package

Basic salary of approximately £40k (dependent on experience) plus generous bonus scheme, 20 days holiday increasing by 1 day for each completed year of service up to a maximum of 25 days (plus Bank Holidays), company pension and company vehicle.
