Inventory Assistant

This role is a great opportunity for someone looking for a varied role, working alongside a number of departments within our business. This person will play a supportive role in the inventory team, assisting with the successful recording, advertising and ultimate sale of used equipment. This role will also take the lead with the hire desk.

Job Function:
Reporting to the Inventory Manager, this role would involve (but not limited to) the following tasks:

Stock Management/Website

  • Ensure all new and used stock added in our system is correctly mapped into the website with photos
  • Monitor website to ensure sales section is working correctly
  • Weekly track of machines in our depots
  • Stock audits
  • Creating shared documents on key inventory for sale

Used Stock

  • Assisting the inventory team on work flow for potential sale of used equipment, including the following:
    • Providing the sales team with underwriting quotes for potential trade ins
    • Manage physical movement of goods in/out at WW and liaising with yardman
    • Liaising with workshop over repairs required for used sales

Trade sales of used equipment

  • Assisting the inventory team on work flow for potential sale of used equipment to traders, including the following:
    • Email enquiries
    • Negotiate with traders over sale of used equipment
    • Ensuring export process is accurately followed

Hire of Equipment

  • Managing the full hire process for short/long term hire as follows:
    • Managing stock in the system, advertised, liaising with marketing
    • Providing quotes to customers
    • Recording sales and hire agreements
    • Managing off hire process
    • Liaising with workshops for service/repair work on hire equipment

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Outgoing, confident manner and ability to communicate credibly and professionally with peers and external stakeholders.
  • Some sales experience preferable in agriculture or motor industry (although not essential)
  • Good admin experience
  • Experience working under own initiative but as part of a collaborative, functioning team.
